The time has come to admit that I'm not going to get round to refurbishing our Mk1 Golf GTI, and we need the garage space, so it's here for sale. She was first registed in May 1983, an Alpine white 1800 GTI. In her life she's had 4 previous owners and covered 120 thousand miles. I took her on in 1999 and my plan was to bring her back to original, so much of the car is still original, including most of the paintwork. I have the orginal owners manual in it's blue folder, and history and receipts since 1999. In 1999 I made the following refurbishments: I then drove her daily until 2003 when she came off the road. During that time she was regularly serviced, had a new exhaust system and a new radiator. I also replaced the brake servo with a bigger passat model, although the brakes are still very "mk1 GTI". She has just passed her MOT and will be sold taxed, and according to the machanic who MOT'd her is a "tidy example". She lives in Southampton and if you like to know more, arrange to inspect her or make an offer, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
